What is Advent by Candlelight?

The purpose of Advent by Candlelight is to set aside a special time to prepare our hearts for the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus. The evening combines an inspirational message with practical applications, music, fine food, and fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Guest Speaker: Dan Harms

Dan earned a degree in Organizational Communication from Purdue University then cofounded an itinerant music and speaking ministry. That ministry brought him to serve Catholic audiences in 46 states and six countries. In 2012 he moved to Richmond and became the Youth Minister at Saint Bridget and went on to serve as their Director of Evangelization and Communication until 2023 when he began his role in the Office for Evangelization. Dan continues to speak and play music for parishes and conferences around the country and loves sharing about the role the Holy Spirit plays in our daily lives. Dan grew up in a Navy family, moving 10 times in 18 years eventually calling San Diego home. Married in 2010, Dan and his wife have four children.

Gift Basket Raffle & Silent Auction

There is no charge for the evening, but one purpose of Advent by Candlelight is to raise money for Adult Faith Formation at Holy Trinity. The funds raised are used to pay for events such as this, bring in other renowned speakers throughout the year, and also for supplies and scholarships. We do this through a Gift Basket Raffle and Silent Auction.
All raffle and auction items will be displayed on Holy Trinity’s website beginning November 18. The raffle and auction include 70+ baskets and other items. Raffle tickets cost 2 for $5, 5 for $10, 12 for $20, 25 for $ 40,  50 for $75, and 70 for $100. On November 30 and December 1, all baskets and auction sales will be displayed in Loreto Hall after all masses.
Tickets can be purchased online beginning November 18 until midnight on Tuesday, December 10, and in person at the basket viewing in Loreto Hall on November 30 and December 1.
Winning tickets will be drawn at 8:00 PM. Winners not present will be notified the following week.

Host & Hostesses

A host/hostess is a person who reserves a table for 8-12 people and agrees to decorate it with a tablecloth and anything from paper plates to the finest china. Each table will choose a Marian devotion name and a table number. Hostesses usually invite friends and family to sit at their table. There will be 43 tables available, and they are assigned on a first-come/first-served basis.
Hostesses make this evening unique because of the love, hospitality, and service they offer guests at their table.

“Come to the table”

It is unnecessary to have been invited by one of our hostesses to attend. Press the gold button to take you to a registration form for this event. Tables will be reserved for open seating and dressed for the evening; you will only be responsible for bringing your meal. All rooms and tables are filled on a first-come-first-served basis based on reservation date.
