LITURGICAL MINISTRIES

Cleans the altar area by lightly dusting, vacuuming, and straightening the books in the pews.  The group gathers to clean each Friday morning at 8:00 a.m.  Members are grouped into five teams, with each team serving once every five weeks.

ALTAR CIRCLE

ALTAR LINENS

Washes, dries and irons altar linens to be used at all Masses throughout the month.  Linens are picked up from the Church twice a week by a group member.  Participants typically serve once every three months.

ALTAR SERVERS

Assist the Priest and Deacons in the celebration of the Mass.  Participation is open to parishioners in fourth grade or older who have made their First Holy Communion.  Training takes place at various times throughout the year.

Provides support for our music, liturgy and Faith Formation teams by operating the cameras and computers for projection/live stream and setting up sound for all Masses and some events.  Volunteers are trained with the skills needed for this ministry.

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION - EMOHC

Assist in the distribution of Holy Communion at liturgical celebrations. Participants must be a Holy Trinity registered parishioner, 18 years of age at the time of training, confirmed and in good standing with the Catholic Church . Training sessions are scheduled for 3 hours and include both classroom instruction and practice in the Church for distributing Holy Communion . Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion serve, on average, once every four weeks at the mass time of their choosing.

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION TO THE SICK & HOMEBOUND

Bring Jesus’ presence to members of our parish family when they are unable to attend Mass and to receive Holy Communion. These ministers strive to help homebound parishioners feel connected to the parish family in times of illness or convalescence. Welcome parishioners and visitors to the weekend Masses, bid worshipers farewell and pick up misplaced missalettes after the conclusion of Mass. This group is open to individuals of all ages.

GREETERS

LECTORS

Proclaim the Word of God at weekend, daily and special occasion Masses. To serve, participants must be a Holy Trinity registered parishioner, be in good standing with the Catholic Church and must attend a 1.5 hour training class. Training classes are held each fall and occasionally during the year if the need arises. Any adult who is Confirmed is invited to participate, as well as any youth who are recommended by their Faith Formation coordinator to read at youth oriented Masses. This group is particularly well-suited for those who possess a good speaking voice, the ability to comfortably speak in front of large crowds and a deep love for Scripture.

LITURGICAL ENVIRONMENT

Prepares the parish for holidays and liturgical seasons by decorating the Church with appropriate plants and adornments, especially during the Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter seasons. Volunteers also assist with ongoing care of plants withing the Church.

Serve all our Masses and various Faith Formation programs at Holy Trinity. Our music teams are rich in their diverse musical styles. Singers and instrumentalists are encouraged to contact us to discover how best to add your voice or instrument to Music Ministry. Opportunities are available for all commitment levels, including weekly, seasonal and one time/special performances.

MUSIC AND CHOIRS

Prepare linens and vessels for weekend, weekday and special occasion liturgical celebration at Holy Trinity. Sacristans must first be trained as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (though they don’t have to serve as one) which means they must be a Holy Trinity registered parishioner, be 16 years of age when trained, be Confirmed and be in good standing with the Catholic Church. Funeral sacristans, a special division of this group, assist with preparing the Church for funerals. Those interested attend an additional 1 hour training class. Funeral sacristans occasionally are also asked to serve during a funeral Mass as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, lector or in another capacity.

Welcome parishioners and visitors to Mass, find seating for attendees and assist with the offertory collection. Participants musst be 18 years of age (except for LifeTeen Mass) at the time of training and registered at Holy Trinity.
